Christmas is near

You may remember my Back to School Top Ten Linky...
Here's The Top Ten Reasons I know Christmas is Near!
10. I have paper cuts from construction paper, blisters from glue guns, and glitter in places I would rather not mention.
9. I twitch when kids ask me how many days till Christmas...
8.  Santa and his naughty list is a daily discussion in my classroom.
7.  The teachers on staff no longer have the energy or stamina to talk...we just grunt, eye roll, and sigh as we pass each other in the hall.  Nuff said...
6.  My trash can, recycle bin, and every inch of my classroom overflows with tiny multi-colored pieces of construction paper scraps, glue stick lids, lidless markers, and broken crayons.
5. Glue sticks are lucky to last a half hour in my classroom. I may be found rocking in the corner saying, "dot, dot not a lot" over and over to myself.
4.  Christmas cookies are the new lean cuisine.
3.  Outside recess is something we can only dream about from the good 'ole days...

Science project

Dear parents , on Friday , December 12th we will be presenting the habitat projects . Here are the instructions . The habitats can be done woth recycled materials from home. In order to make the habitats the children will use the following materials . Materials : An old shoe box , old recycled materials you have at home like newspapers , old cardboard papers , old decorations or past project decorations . You can paint draw or even glue different things in your habitat . The children have their habitat that was assigned to them on their science notebook . Also this week it's about investigating their habitats and writing down what they want to talk about in their presentation . They are free to pick as much information as they want . If you have any questions feel free to ask me through here or when you see me at school. Here is a website that can give you a better idea of what needs to be presented . http://www.firstpalette.com/Craft_themes/Animals/habitatdiorama/habitatdiorama.html Thanks . Ms. Gissett

Welcome Parents :

This blog is for you the parents and for me the teacher, I love teaching and i believe a successful classroom  is always successful if the teacher has the cooperation from the parents. This Blog will give you an insight into your child's life , the activities we do here in school during the day and also will keep you up to date with any information concerning your child. Also its for me to include fun teaching stuff you can do at home.

Hoe you enjoy  my blog :)  feel free to show your kids since there will be pictures of them most of the time , they are the  main characters here in this blog :)

Top Ten Reasons I Know I am
Heading Back to School:

10. The days are increasingly shorter and the to do lists are increasingly LONGER.
9. Instead of planning my entire day around going to a dollar store or the target dollar spot, I am now planning my days around getting into the school building.
8. Every time I go to school I have to get a flat bed cart to bring my load into my classroom.
7. I am currently inventing and patenting a diet coke patch that I can wear all day.
6. Monday through Friday, I don't allow myself to use the restroom from 7-3.
5. I have been to the doc to stock up on bladder infection meds. which will get me through to October at least. (refer to number 6)
4. I have spent over 250 dollars on school supplies and that does NOT include my own supplies for classes.
3. When I eat lunch I set the timer for 5 minutes. Any food left after that must be thrown away. (back to doc for heartburn and antacid meds)
2. I recorded my name in a whiny voice and have it playing repeatedly on my ipod as I set up my classroom just to desensitize my ears to the sound. If I could simultaneously be tapped on, tugged on, and followed around the room I would add that to my teacher training.
and the number 1 reason I know I am heading back to school....
Every waking moment I think about something else I want and need to do for my classroom and my incoming students!
